a trying year

2011 HAS BEEN A TRYING YEAR FOR ME. 1ST PART OF THE YEAR, MY BAND INCARCERI 9 LOST ALL ITS MEMBERS SAVE ME. THAT ACTUALLY TURNED OUT POSITIVE, BUT IT WAS STRESSFUL. 2ND PART WAS FACING A CHANGE IN MY EMPLOYMENT SITUATION LEADING ME AND MY FAMILY HALF WAY ACROSS THE COUNTRY TO DALLAS TX. THAT IS JUST NOW STARTING TO CALM DOWN AND WE HAVE A PLACE AND I AM PUTTING MY STUDIO BACK TOGETHER. THE LAST PART IS THAT MY MOTHER DIED JUST A FEW DAYS AGO AND I AM EXTREMELY SAD. NOW I HAVE NO PARENTS LEFT.

The confusion lifts and the path layed clear

HELLO ALL WHO ARE LISTENING. INCARCERI 9 AS IT ONCE WAS, FOR NOW IS NO MORE. I AM CONTINUING WRITING AND RELEASING TRACKS AND MUSIC FOR IT MYSELF. SO, I9 IS  NOT DEAD, AND PROBABLY NEVER WILL BE. I HAVE JUST RECORDED AND RELEASED A NEW SONG FOR AN UPCOMING CD. YOU CAN GET IT NOW THOUGH HERE. THE NAME OF THE NEW TUNE IS SOULESS DESTINY. THERE WILL BE MORE SONGS TO COME, BUT INCARCERI 9 ISN'T A NUMBER ONE PRIORITY WITH ME. WHEN I RELEASE ENOUGH SONGS, I WILL ASSEMBLE THEM INTO AN ALBUM AND MAKE IT AVAILABLE AS WELL. IN THE FUTURE, MAYBE A YEAR OR TWO FROM NOW, I WILL REASSEMBLE A LIVE BAND TO PLAY I9 SONGS LIVE AGAIN, UNLESS I STILL FEEL MISANTHROPIC TOWARDS MUSICIANS AT THAT TIME :)

AS FAR AS THE FIRST MORKTRA CD, IT IS BEING DONE, BUT AS I FEEL LIKE GETTING TO IT. ALL SONGS ARE WRITTEN FOR IT AND WILL BE AVAIABLE HERE, WHEN I AM DONE WITH EACH ONE, AND THEY TOO WILL BE ASSEMBLE INTO A PROPER ALBUM AND RELEASED WHEN DONE.

I AM STARTING COLLEGE NEXT MONTH, SO I WILL NOT BE PLAYING MANY GIGS, IF ANY GIGS AT ALL. IF I DO PLAY ONE OR TWO IT WOULD BE A SOLO MORKTRA SHOW. SO, HEY, WISH ME LUCK IN SCHOOL.

UPDATES ON MY VARIOUS PROJECTS

Well, things have been in a state of confusion of late, a fact that I won't delve into at all really. Suffice to say, Incarceri 9 has been put almost completely on hold, and my solo project Morktra has come to the forefront. I have finished writing all the songs and done a lot of the recording for the first full length record. I have gone back and forth on exactly what I want for the songs, whether to let them stand as is or add more instruments to them using synth and drum sounds. I have decided to leave some just with guitar and vocal, and others to add electronic music to. Here is a playlist of some songs I have on youtube, some are covers, and and the rest originals that will be on the album. The name of the album will be We Are Oblivion, and will be approximately 14 songs. The release date will be announced, but I don't lke to rush things.

Other than that, just trying to make it through this drama filled place called life the best I can and eeking out the most pleasure and creativity I can from it. I will leave you with a webcam video of me playing the last Morktra song I wrote entitled Complete.
